Anybody tried the Vista Cruise cruise control? Thought it might be a cheaper option than the Throttlemeister.

With a bit of tweeking I managed to fit a crucon universal throttle lock (the European version of the Vista) on my 6th gen. However the space left to fit extras on my handlebars was very tight so I had to thin the unit down slightly with a belt sander to fit the gap. Once you have got it fitted they are very handy. The ability to set the unit and relax your right hand/wrist from maintaining the throttle position makes it very well worth it on longer trips.

I have tried both and removed the Throttlemeister and am using the Vista and am happy with that. You will need to monkey with it a bit to get it to work correctly but is nice for long rides. The Throttlemeister was clumsy at best and made the bars look like dildos.

I use this universal model on my '98, and wouldn't be without it. I bought an Audiovox true cruise control a while back, but never installed it. Don't know why I thought it would be useful, but I have no need or use for it on my bike. The Vista Cruise works great, and is ~$24.00.

The Throttlemeister is better for picking up regular chicks. That other one is good for picking up really weird chicks. That other one can also be drilled out and you can lace it with fringe on one side. I guess both of those gadgets could be used to pick up dudes too if anyone is into that.

Anybody have a report on a chrome cup holder? I saw one on a Harley the other day and the dude told me it didn't work all that well. He said his beer went flat in less than ten miles.

+1 on the vista cruise but you need to trim the throttle tube to fit it properly and it is a fine line between getting it tight enough to actually lock the throttle and not having enough friction so the throttle creeps back down. The other issue with it is that it will hit the side of your tank in a full lock right turn so you need to trim the lever for clearance.

I found the throttlemeister to look ok but it was a pain, almost dangerous, to engage or adjust while driving.

+1.......I sanded the Vista and not the throttle tube.....and tinkered with it quite a bit until perfect.

Put on a Throttlemeister the same day I put on the Heli bars nearly 20 years ago. No problems except getting hustled by chicks who like stainless steel dildoes. ;)

I used 2 part epoxy to hold ONE HALF to the switch gear. Only glue one half or you will have to break things to remove the switch gear. This allowed me to position the vista cruise where I wanted it.
I have used one on every bike I have ever owned and love them, however on this last trip to PA for mothers day I rode 1000 miles and only locked it twice.
There great for learnig how to ride with no hands.

Custom fitted a Vista to my '96, shortened lever, etc.... works great just like it did on my bikes from the 70's & 80's!
