Mhm Airtech makes pretty decent stuff... only problem with them is, they don't drill any of the holes, and there's no hardware... so, for your lower fairings, you get to figure out how to attach em at the bottom, and you drill all ur own holes... Oh, and they only have the upper and lowers, no tails or seat cowls... With chuck, all the holes are where they needed to be, and the tabs on the 1/4 panels are lookin' good... be prepared to wait a LONG time for him, but his work is worth the wait... Personally, I harassed his email once a week til I got results...

UPDATE: All fairings in primer, as well as tail and front fender. Took some work to stealthily hide some scratches and such. need to sand tank down to metal, pop some dents, and prime. After that, paint will commence. Estimated time to completion: 1 week from Monday (would be sooner but Mother's day approacheth). Also, small spoiler, I will be adding subtle bits of neon and flair to this creation, thereby enhancing the "custom" feel and hopefully netting some awards at upcoming bike events in his area of So Cal. Pix will soon follow this post, just need to actually take some. Also, video will accompany completion of project, outlining the process from beater to road-gem.

P.S. Not entirely related to project, but will also be replacing chain (w/ gold more than likely), rear sprocket, and doing oil change prior to SLO. any guidance here would be appreciated. Also, I was considering pressure-washing engine @ a d.i.y. carwash to remove road grit, oil, etc... any objections to this? Have seen it done carefully in the past with no ill effects.

    Update

Hit a bit of a snag with the whole "mom's kicking me out" thing"... tryin' to locate a place to live has put a serious damper on paint, since $ is short. But hopefully will get the bike all black in the next week, then buy the vinyl to do my yellow scallops ;) will keep all updated.

Dude - it's called "give and grovel." Some people think it's "give and take" but because there's a woman involved here, it's definitely "grovel." Time to master this technique now if you ever plan on living a happy life. Or you can always become gay or your last option is to join the clergy.

Send your mom some dam flowers to her work with a short note about being sorry. Important note here - saying less is more. The more you say can and will be held against you for the rest of your life. Then, mom calms down, Pyro gets a little more time to finish the project... Probably time to move out anyway but we need to see this bike completed! When's the last time you sent you mother flowers when it wasn't mother's day?

Why is your mom kick'n you out?
That time would come sooner or later anyway. Just part of becoming a man.
There is nothing a woman likes better though than a man with his own place.

Good job. Hey i noticed in the photo that the exhaust header is rusty . You could hit that with a wire brush and some VHT flat black paint. Right?
