I'm in the process of installing convertibars on my 00 VFR and wondering how people have oriented their installation? Photos would be ideal, searching around I've seen some 6th gen pics, but nothing from the 5th gen.

I can only seem to get lock to lock steering with the cyclops clamps pointed back towards me so that the riser bars are closer to the rider than the triple clamps. While good for highway riding in that position, I can't lower the bars too far or the brake and clutch reservoirs are getting in the way of the top of the forks. I'd like to be able to have the bars all the way down so the controls are just above the fairings when I'm riding twisties.

I'd really prefer to be able to mount the bars outboard with the clip ons sliding up and down between the triple clamp pinch bolts, but that seems to rub the inner fairing rather more than might be a good idea. Placing the clip ons forward runs both into the dash as well as makes upper fairing/windscreen interference a problem when raised. Has anyone tried that successfully or have recommendations on what to do here?

    Thanks in advance ... rjs

My convertibars shipped last week. When they get here I will be better able to see what your talking about and maybe we can help each other through it. That being said have you tried contacting Convertibar yet?
I found this: Special Kit Requirements/Installation Tips
    1. Contact - Slight fairing contact is ok as long as the steering stops can be reached with out damaging the fairing
    2. Trimming - Depending on rise and preference, trimming the handlebar length will allow more rise
    3. Cyclops Clamps - are to be mounted on top of the triple clamp
    4. Moving - Moving the clutch lever, and brake lever toward the center of the motorcycle will allow greater upper fairing/windshield clearance

    Restrictions
    1. Triple Clamp Pinch Bolts restrict forword and or aft positioing if using the 8mm web clamps(ex. 41-875-08). 41mm and 43mm clamps are also offered with a 26mm web distance which locates the riser pipe further outboard avoiding the pinch bolts.

    Recommended Riser Trim Length
    1. 5.0" Riser Length = Trim Number 8

I get adjustability in the range of 0-1.5" higher than stock. You just have to flip the cyclops mounts around so the pinch bolts are towards the fider.

So after a nice 1000 mile ride to PA, I have decided that it would be nice if I could rotate the brake and clutch levers further downward, but the master cylinders interfere with the risers.
