    Has anyone tried these?

seems strange they don't offer a VFR kit

Just thinking that it will cut down on the abrasion my tank suffers from my jeans and 'stitch; and keep me from wearing off the paint after several years.

I think they would look good on a black bike, but I dunno, it just doesn't do it for me. I think those things ruin the lines of the machines and kinda look....out of place?
I would consider one of the clear protective films or at least something the same color as the tank.
This, of course is one guys humble opinion....YMMV

They offer it in a clear, go here
    http://www.techspec-usa.com/overview.html
and scroll about 55% or so of the way down the page, and there is a segment on the different materials they offer. Although it apparently isn't totally clear.

Bottom of the page, they offer a generic kit which includes a pattern.

I have the Mag / Knight, magnetic tank-bra. Its OK at best. I think it is over priced for what it is. I don't even use it anymore. If you want to check them out here is the link.

p.s- I am not recommending their product.

    Yeah

I've used the clear on the VFR and the snake, or whatever they call it on my 04i track bike...........they work ok, but the clear one on the VFR started peeling at the corners, so I took it off............and what a pain that was. Took me a half hour with Goo Gone to get all the adhesive off.

When it was on, you could still see it. It didn't blend in all that well. I would rate it a 4-5 out of 10.

Yeah, I saw that, but still would rather a VFR specific version.

Yeah, I had one of those with my FJR. I too was kind of not excited about it, especially the initial install/shaping of it. Kind of a PITA.

They now have a VFR specific one. I ordered them on Friday afternoon, I got them yesterday (Tuesday) so that is a good sign. Haven't put them on yet.

    Another Option?

I've been using a Bagster "Alpha" tankbag on my bikes for quite a few years and I just ordered a tank cover/bag mount for my '02 VFR.

    Check out: www.bagster.com/en/moto/bagagerie.php
click on "catalog" for model specific listings.

    Spike:

I just got a set for Christmas. I read a great review of the tech-specs in Motorcycle Consumer News (best MC magazine ever) and that's what made me put them on the Christmas wish list.

From my understanding they work great if you follow the directions to a T. It has to be pretty warm out for the skins to stick correctly. I won't be able to put them on until early summer. But I will post a review and pictures when I do!
