Hi. I think I'm buying a 2007 25th Anniversary Edition in RWB. I saw one in town the day after I'd been reading about it on the internet. I LOVED the color scheme - it looks so striking in person. I followed it until the rider pulled over and let me try it on for size (in my skirt and heels no less). It felt pretty darn good!

Are there any short/small women (or men for that matter) on the forum who could share their experience with riding the VFR 800?

I currently have a Ninja 250 and an FZ6 but I like the VFR's touring and passenger capacity. I have about 5 years and 15,000 miles experience but I need more more more. The VFR I sat on seemed to have very manageable weight distribution (it felt considerably less tall than the FZ6 although stock seat height is actually a smidge higher). I really wish I'd gotten that guy's phone number so I could sweet talk him into a test ride.

My main concern as far as fit, is whether the reach to the handlebars will be uncomfortable on long trips.

I've poked around the forum a bit and I'm excited to find an active forum for this bike with such obviously educated riders! That's a good sign that I'm on the right track.

p.s. Lil Devil is my mighty Neenja.

I like it! I could spend another $2K and get the same bike in black, I suppose.

Welcome aboard, we love to have the lady riders here. My wife has a bike, but wont be taking the basic class for about a month or so.

I am a smaller person 5'8 and 140lbs and I am definatly careful at ver low speeds with my heavy VFR for fear of dropping her ( again ). But once up and riding, the bike does all the work. Matter of fact, letting it do its thing is better then fighting with it I am learning.

Don't forget to post up pics of the bike once you get it, the RWB in that year is beautiful!

Thank you. I hope your wife has a good time - I'm an MSF coach and I love to see women in my classes!

BTW, that's not what I mean by "small." I'm 5'2 and 100 pounds.

one of my female friends got on my vfr750 and she is about 5' 4" and was not quite on her tippy toes. of course i am 6'5" 220 and it handles like a dream and the reach isn't bad on long rides. rode 250miles on Tuesday and felt just fine.

best of luck and welcome to the site!
