    Hi all,

A few weeks ago I posted a message about my FI light that would come on and disappear most of the time after I restarted the engine. Since, I replaced my battery at the Honda dealer and they told me the very low voltage was the reason why the light came up.
Fin for a day until yesterday.
The light went on again but this time it started blinking and I counted 7 blinks.
Anybody can highlight me with that issue? My VFR is from 2003 with 39,900 miles.
    Thank you guys!

Here is what I found online:
What is the ECT sensor? Electronic Computer T? no idea!!!

    FI lamp blinks - 7
    Hard start at low temp.

    1. Loose or poor contact on ECT sensor
    2. Open or short in ECT sensor wire
    3. Faulty ECT sensor

7 blinks means 1 of 3 things. 1 - Loose or poor contacts on ECT sensor. 2 - Open or short circuit in ECT sensor wire. 3 - Faulty ECT sensor open or short circuit in ECT sensor wire.
i think you can safely assume the problems lies with your ECT.
I'd first say reseat all your ECT plugs including the sensor. perhaps there's a loose connection.

Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. The sensor failure is preventing it from running rich while trying to come to operating temperature. Not an uncommon failure.

    Hey DudeAlicious!

That is a GREAT help!, I need to look it up.
I actually went to Honda this morning to give my "famous" home made French chocolate mousse to my favorite mechanic there. He helped me out Monday by checking out my bike and finding the battery was dead. Free of charge while the shop wanted to charge me $75 per hour to just check it out!
Anyway, I showed him what I found about the 7 blinks and he said it's probably nothing. Also that when the FI light stays on (like it did on my way up there) it just means that the info has been stored. Anyway, his advice was to see what happens in a fw days and possibly bring it in later if it still goes on.
So I'll check the ECT and your diagram is very very precious!
    Merci beaucoup!
