Every catalog I look through, or website I search only lists OEM gearing for sprocket/chain sets for VFRs.

I know we don't have the numbers of owners like the CBR crowd, but I didn't think it would be that hard to find.

So, where is the best place to find alternative gears?
I want the quicker acceleration for the added torque curve shift while riding 2 up mainly.
My riding is about 60% around town and 40% highway blasts.

So feedback on -1/+2, -1/OEM, OEM/-2 for my purposes is gladly accepted too.

    Thanks.

    Sprockets

:cool:Motorcycle Superstore - Motorcycle Accessories and Motorcycle Gear has front and rear sprockets for the bike. Just going down from 16 to 15 in front will give you a kick. If you want more, start going up in the rear to 44 or 45. I like it because it gives the bike more acceleration in 6th and puts mine at an RPM range with less tingles. Hope this helps.

Any Honda dealer can get you a sprocket kit from any number of manufacturers. I like saving money as much as the guy but sometimes the $10 you're going to save really isn't that important. I got my sprocket kit at the local dealer I frequent for $175 & that was a simple as asking for a military discount.

For the gearing, I see on this site that most 6th Gen owners aren't very happy with their overall MPG. If you go -1/+2, it's going to kill your MPG. If you are going to change anything, go +1 in the rear & leave it alone. The VFR is a big, heavy bike. Nothing you do is going to change that.

    KC-10 FE out...

    Thanks for the feedback.
    Mileage is a consideration.

My dealer (at least the parts guy) is more than a little green.

I'll source a sprocket. for a little more bottom end pull.

Front or rear will depend on research.

    Thanks again.
