WUWT Whats Up With That ?

I am tempted to buy a front as they only make a front for the 4th gen, but I don't want to mix rubber even from the same company.

Sure they do. They have them in all the common widths. Try a different website. I recommended trying out a 160 if you never have. I quit using 170s over 5 years ago. Big improvement in handling and no sacrifice of traction. Besides, a 160 is actually the ideal width for 5" rims.

Pirellie rear of the 4th Gen

Well , I went to the official site / home page and typed in the "stock/ factory" front & rear , and "No Savey Nada" for the rear, so I would guess the aspect ratio is also different for the tire You are speraking about ?

    Thanks

    Here are two retailers.

    Ronayers.com: Angel ST E.M.S. - Angel ST E.M.S.
    Pirelli Angel ST

160/60 You'd think it would be a smaller diameter and circumference, but it doesn't seem so in actual use. I didn't have to recalibrate my speedo/odometer in order to maintain 100% accuracy (GPS-calibrated) of my odometer when I changed tires.

betarace and I run Pirellis on our VFR's too.

I run a Diablo Corsa III on the front and a Diablo Rosso on the rear since it comes in the 170 size. I've been mixing the two for a couple years now with no ill effect and I do track days. betarace runs the Pirelli Diablo's. However, Pirelli is phasing that line out so thats why I put the Diablo Rosso 170 on the rear.

I think if you choose any of the PIrelli line you'll be very happy. In addiiton, I'd be leary of dropping a 160 on the rear. Not because it won't work, but more because that is not the stock size Honda set for the 4th gen. More often than not when people change the rear tire sizes, whether the tire fits or not, their is something negative in handeling, turn-in, something. I see more poeple switch back to stock tires sizes after experimenting with the change than switching over and keeping the change.

Ya I am going 2 stay with 4th Gen stock sizes , the Angels look 2B a much longer lasting Sp- touring tire, I believe the D-Rosso is pure sport ? and I am lookng for the best of both worlds and the Angels seem 2B "Da Kine".
