Hi Guys, I hope you can give me some advice on a oiling kit for my VF1000F.

I have read allot of info about the available kit types on the Net. However I don't see any comparisons. Which do you think is the best, most efficient type, the "adapter" style kit or the Drill/Tap type?

I am not scared to drill my engine casing, nor am I concerned about the cost difference. I am leaning towards the "adapter" style given the fact that the lines do not drain back into the crankcase when the engine is off. I assume this would mean quicker oil to the top end upon start up.

Also, I see there are several potential suppliers, Dave Dodge and Holeshot. Other than these two suppliers are there any other's offering the T-H style kits? Are these kits all the same, ie. oil pressure and volume?

I have read allot of stuff by Dave Dodge and he certainly focuses on line size being a big factor in a mod's efficiency and oil pressure. Are the line sizes the same between his kits and Holeshot's?

    Thanks for your help.

    Patrick

I'm not sure anyone is still supplying the drill and tap kit, I think Jaime Daugherty stopped. The parts are fairly simple if you want to assemble that kit yourself, using Earls fittings or similar. For ease of install the adapter kit might be the way to go. I tapped my 1KR but probably wouldn't do it again - definitely wouldn't try it with the motor in the bike.

Thanks guys. I decided to go with Dave Dodge's Adapter kit. I spoke to him on the phone and he was great. He is out of stock for a couple of weeks and will send one up here to Canada when he gets more.

Good price and I know what I am getting.
