Just got done installing new float bowl gaskets on my V4 and to my dismay they still leak... gonna leave them over night to see if they swell and fix themselves, if not, looking for any thoughts that might get things up and running with no more leaks... is there any instant gasket materials out there that are fuel compatible? Any other thoughts would be appreciated.. Thanks...

** Better yet- will or does permatex motoseal work in this application???

If they are the right size they should swell up just swell once you put the gas to it.
I wouldn't recommend using any sealant for this application, especially on a new gasket.

if they dont fix themselves, grab a surfacing block and make sure that the mating surfaces are flat

I recently had my ass kicked by a set that I resealed. After taking it back apart I found that the tip of the bowl locating dowel had cracked off and was still inthe carb bodies. They looked like they were seated but just that tiny bit of aluminum was enough to cause a couple of corners to leak. With new seals you should have been in good shape.

thanks for the thoughts guys... checked back into the leaks today and found that it wasn't actually the bowls.. was one of the fuel inlet o-rings that was causing me the headache.. sneaky little thing.. looked like it was leaking from a totally different area... live and learn i spose... now just have to find some similar ones at the old hardware store... thanks again...

Bikes are like children... they're always up to something that will either piss you off or make more of your hair fall out... usually both..ha,ha..
