hey gang! my wife and i are planning on heading to the ksl this wed (maybe tuesday night) and do some local rides. esp joyce kilmer. anyone done jk? it's off the nc end of the cherohala and reconnects onto 129 north (?) of wheelers. it around 6+ miles of bumpy, twisty, no traffic, occasional loose gravel road. it's also part of the tn route! i've been on it once and it made quite an impression :clock: as i was following a nut (buddy) on an aprilia mille. had to ride it supermoto style. maybe we'll see some vfrs, eh? might try a modified version of my nc route too. anywho...i'll be ridin mofos .

Noted. I will be arriving the afternoon of the 31st. Gonna take awhile to get there from Huntsville. There will be five or six of us in the group. Three (or four) ZRX-1200's a 929 and my '02 VFR. We have the "Bunkhouse" reserved and plan to have a LARGE ice chest for keeping beverages cooled, tire changing tools and a few spares just in case and an air compressor. All that is needed now ........ get there and ride. :)

excellent! congrats on yer first post! wifey and i were at the ksl this past week. mo is excited to meet the viffers. what route are ya takin' to get to stecoah? hopefully coming across the cherohala. if you are getting off 75 (cleveland) onto 64, you might want to take 30 off of 64, which then turns into 315. take 315 to the stop sign and turn right then right again at the next stop sign (68) then left onto the cherohala. from there you can take 129 south to 143 to 28 south to the ksl. or for more fun, go north on 129 to the gap then head south on 28. cool! look forward to seeing you and the zee wrecks!

" ZeeWrecks" I love it :)

Not sure of the route. I am loading up with one of my buds and since he's towing the trailer, it's his choice. Probably the quickest way. I kinda figured going through Murphy and hanging a left on 28 may be the best route with a diesel Ram and a loaded trailer.

The route you suggested would definitely be my choice if I were riding over. Got too much crap to haul. We're staying through Saturday. I think I am going to help the bunkhouse atmosphere by bringing one of those 2-gallon jars of spicy pickled boiled eggs. Uhhh, I'll be the only one with my own gas mask.

Thanks for the welcome. I didn't realize this was my first post. Joined a few months back and just been lurking until I heard that the g2g was at Kickstand.

Hey kd4, maybe I got the wrong cabin name. I know the member of our group who "leased" the building said it housed five and we were to place 5 in it. I'll contact him and make sure. I will refrain from breaking out the poot-producers if we are indeed sharing with someone else. :)
