Well, we have been over the education, and a plethra of mods. New gear is always good as well. I ride with very nice second had stuff, peiced together on my budget. My education is on the way ( now that my bike is back together ) and I am happy with the look and feel of my bike. But a new helmet and a new set of real boots ( rather then protective but cumbersome work/combat boots ) would definatly tide me over if I was getting bored with my riding experiance. Not too mention nicer gloves. These are the things you are in contact with that contact the bike ( hopefully you are wearing gear ) and the things you are wearing that will contact the pavement instead of your skin ( hopefully that never happens ). In addition to upgrading the rider and the bike, upgrade your armor.
Of course maybe you have nice protective and comfertable gear already, I don't know. But it looked like everything else has been covered by the above posts.
    Good luck in your endeavor.

Wow, lots of good options! I don't know where to start! Originally, I was thinking aesthetics...wanted to try to make it look more aggressive, more sporty.
Rider track course would be fun, but truthfully, I'm a little nervous about doing it. Is there somewhere in Ontario to do that? I'd be worried about holding others up around the track, for one.

if you arent going to invest in your skills because "truthfully, I'm a little nervous about doing it." I think you are making a big mistake, actually a massive one. MSF, Lee Parks, California Superbike School and the plethora of other training opportunities is something not to be missed. That said, if you really want boots "above the ankle" I would recommend some of these:

Ouch beta! LOL. Seriously though, beta is right. Invest in some training for yourself. You should NOT be one bit worried about holding people up. Track days such as what NESBA provides are set up so that this doesn't happen. They split the riders into 3 groups: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. All "track days" I have seen do it like this. They have instructors there to help you learn and you always ride at your OWN pace, never someone else's. Things are set up like this just for people like you... so you have somewhere safe to start your learning. Some of the groups that do this even give you a "free trial" so to speak where you get two 20-minute sessions on the track for free. If you like it, you pay for the day. If you don't, you leave and don't pay a dime.

you are bored with the vfr? hmm..

does that mean you have a short attention span, or you have ridden the bike harder than it can handle? are you looking for more power, more performance,or something else? the vfr might not be the bike for you. you may be one of those people who just needs to get a new bike every few years. we definitely need riders like you because I am too cheap to buy a new bike. I need those used bikes on the market from people who become bored easily. If you seriously are intersted in mods, I have a couple on my old 5th gen... let's see: 4th gen clip ons for more aggressive feel (opposite of heli bars), racetech internals in front for more aggressive forks, steel braided brakes and clutch by galfer, penske triple clicker out back to stiffen her up in the corners, sargent seat to ease the pain in my arse on long rides. power commander and 2bros slip on for more fuel consumption and depletion of ozone layer (always doing my part). For longer riding days I have Givi luggage, taller givi touring windshield, and heli bars. My bike has 72000 miles on it and I still haven't seen anything out there that is enough better than mine for me to even consider trading. But by all means, if you are bored, hand it over.

Geez! Tough crowd!! As for the boots, I'll take them in case I ever decide to become a crossdresser or a Kawasaki rider.
As for the track days, I found a few schools that operate out of Toronto Motorsports Park and Mosport. Not sure which one is better for just honing skills, as opposed to getting into racing. There's a club called SOAR and another called Pro6, but I don't know which one would be better for me. Anyone familiar with either of these clubs?

SOAR is Southern Ontario Amateur Racing, it's not really a school. Have you considered Turn 2 or FAST school?

I think it means "up side down suspension", although it's usually USDF for "up side down forks"... I think.
