Just got back from a short ride in NJ. It only got up to 50 degrees but it felt a lot warmer due to recent weather. The skies were clear ( and more importantly, so were the roads ) and really no wind, so there were no excuses not to go out. Saw several bikes out, I guess other riders had the same idea, unfortunately none were VFRs .

A great bonus day that I did not expect, now it's time to watch some football!

I was also able to get out today, and it was for the first time in the past five or six weekends (bad weather and family commitments conspired against me). Temp ran 46F to 52F, perfect for me. It is miraculous how good I feel after a two or three hour ride. Nothing else quite like it. Hope the weather holds so I can get back out tomorrow.

Good for you Barley! Makes me envious.

I had plans on doing this myself, and just couldn't find the time. Where I am in NJ, its like an f'n snow belt. 3 days ago was the first time I've seen my grass since November. Thursday was the first day that the temps were above freezing in weeks, I think. Fifty would feel like a heat wave, but I did see 46F on the thermometer today. I was taking care of some home stuff outside, and had a t-shirt and a zip up sweatshirt on, and that was plenty.

Keep our fingers crossed that maybe we get a few more of these over the next couple of months. Although the winter weather advisory is already in affect for tomorrow as they're expecting 1/4 inch or more of ice. Greaaaat....

Good for you Barley, I too got out today for about an hour or so. It only got up to about 45 here in CT. Nice day for a ride.

The weather was beautiful here today, but the bike was trapped in the garage thanks to mud from melting snow in the alley. *Sigh* maybe next week...

ahhh... what a weekend here in NJ. Got out both days! More riders out today as opposed to yesterday. 50s yesterday, close to 60s today. Tried out my new camera, I'll have to see how it turned out.

The weekend is shaping up to put in some ridding time, already told the wife not to count on me over the weekend to do all that fun stuff we do together like grocery shopping and things like that... Not sure it's going to stick but I sure will be out there at least one of the days.

Hey Tuga. Yea, it is looking like a nice weekend. Not sure I'm going to get out, as I was planning on doing some time one the boat.

I'm about 40 minutes due west of you. My in-laws live over in the Ironbound (right by Tony De Canaca Restaurant - not sure on that spelling). Not too many twisties in Newark, but some damn good food! I'd meet up for that sometime!

Keep in touch, and keep your eye out for other NJ and PA rides.

Hey, where are you in Somerset county? I work in Princeton and ride in your area every once in a while.

Tuga - Yea, I wouldn't imagine the VFR is the bike of choice for many in Newark. Most of them are litre bikes with NOS strapped to them as well, so when they get on Route 80 they can do 175. My brother in law is one of them lol. His bike (2009 GSXR 750) has been in the shop for a month "gettin chromed".

I'd meet up with you for a ride, especially for charity.

Elwray - I'd go to Newark to eat anytime. And while Don Pepe's is good, trust a fat guy on this: There are lots of hidden little gems in Newark that make great food at half the prices of Pepe. I have no doubt that Tuga is aware of many.

Sounds good to me! That's just the one my family has been going to for a while... I have no doubt there are some more awesome locations!
