No black OEM bags for 2009?

Hi all - my first post here. I'm buying a black 2009 VFR, and I'm getting conflicting information on the availability of OEM hard luggage in color-matched black. I found this part number 08L52-MCW-110 for 2009 black bags on Internet searches, but the Honda catalog shows only silver bags available.

Does anyone have an '09 with OEM black bags?

Have you ordered from this site? It doesn't look very trustworthy. The domain was privately registered in 2009, there is no street address, no phone number, and no email - just a web form. WHOIS lookup link

I called Honda customer service, and they verified that even though the website and the 2010 dealer catalog show only the silver bags available, this part number is 08L52-MCW-110 for black bags.

The question remains, are there any 2009 owners who have actually purchased 2009 OEM black bags and from where?

 

See if the paint color or part number is the same for 2006. All the hard bags are the same from 2002-2009, just differ in color. Also check with Ron Ayers and Honda East Toledo. I've spoken and dealt with Honda East Toledo and they are some very cool people and others speak highly of Ron Ayers around here.

 

The latest word is the '09 black bags are discontinued and basically unavailable. There's a similar post on VFRD about David Silver Spares being out as well. The '06 black is a slightly different color/sheen, but I ordered them anyway.

 

I think the bags you're getting will have a quartz like fleck in them. Worse comes to worse you can always have them sanded and sprayed. Shouldn't cost too much.
