Wow! If I could find some "Italian Red", I'd give this a shot on my lower right fairing! Great work!

yo! I live in Middleburg (15 miles from you). I repainted my entire bike w/ rattle can with OEM results... your italian red is found at:
Paint Search :: Color Results - ColorRite

my advice is to take the whole panel down to a scuff (200 grit) and respray the whole thing. While colorrite stuff is a very close match, touch ups (unless in a discrete location) are visible.

Dont forget to get the clearcoat to go with. If you want any help, PM me

Well done job. IT CAN BE DONE! With good prep and finish the can jobs can look damn good. Honda factory colors are hard to come by or DAMN pricy through Color Rite. I try to stick with domestic aitomotive paint that are "CLOSE" to Honda. ie: pontiac monza red is darn close to honda's

I can tell you are proud of the way it came out...as well you should be. That looks like it was professionally sprayed in a clean room and baked! Awesome job!

i do have some, i have more detailing experience though lol.
if you put enough clear on it, you can sand it smooth and get a nice glossy finish when polishe

but really main thing is with spray paint.. especially with metallics is even coats so you dont get that tiger stripe/ lines... dust the base coat on, go heavy with the clear.. wet sand and polish.

i didnt want to have my painter paint the bike, cause its a first track bike, and i know it will go down for sure at some point.. so why waste the money, but im all about wasting some time lol

so i got a pretty good paint job at a fraction of the cost, but just a little more time involved.
durabilty wont be as good, but its a tack bike

    Rattlecan Paint Job

I would like to add some "pop" to my bike and don't really want to pay top dollar for the small amount of paint I'm planning on adding (basically a stripe down the tank and a colored section on the lower fairing). I had a few questions regarding rattle can paint jobs.

First...my bike is pearl white, do I still need to prime the areas to be painted or do I just lightly sand to "rough up" the area so the paint sticks better?

Secondly, it was mentioned to go heavy on the clear coat. Do I simply layer, let dry and layer until the desired result is reached then sand/wet sand to finish or do I need to sand or wet sand between each coat of clear?

Finally. Do I simply start adding clear coat after the initial color coats are done, or do I sand/wet sand the color coat prior to starting the clear coats?

    Thanks!
