Thank for the update havcar, I appreciate it... This is next years deal, this year is just the slip-ons... Pick up some sound and like you said, be prepared for some possible funky sounds and hopefully the PCU (Power Control Unit - Chip - Computer module whatever it's technical name is on a bike) on the bike will adjust to allow for the increased air flow. Although I'm not expecting all that much Power increase since the bike is "choked" by the catalytic converter and existing pipes.

This change is really about sound. The bike is too quite for me. Its almost silent...

    Regards,

    Doug

    Hello again havcar

The Horsepower gains I was "quoting" from this race bike mechanic are for a FULL Head to Tail piping and a properly installed and programmed Power Commander module.

He didn't even say anything about Horse Power gains on the Slip-ons, and I really don't care. if I get more power, cool. if not no biggie. I'm just not used to a "silent" bike...

Thanks again for all your feedback...

    Doug

Even with the full mods you mentioned you realistically are only going to get an extra 5-8 hp out of the bike. If you've got more money than you know what to do with you can always look into adding a Toro supercharger to your bike. The 6th Gen superchargers are still in the developement stage but they have been available for the 5th Gen for a while for a mere $5000 or so. Would you be interested in trading the bridge for the statue??

    Hi Rollin,

Really... Only 5-8 HP... I would have thought more but if that's what you feel. Just curious, did you do this to your bike and Dynos it before and after? I'm trying to get confirmation of the cost and the end Horsepower result. It's not worth it to me to spend over $2,000 for a Full Head to tail Pipe, PC III tune, Dynoed on a machine before and after and only get 5 - 8 HP.

I spent $1,100 and got 43 more HP on my car or a 14% increase - pretty substantial for the price.

FYI, I'm a working stiff so no money for $5,000 mods... If I had that kind of money I would have gotten the 2010 VFR1200 G7, even if I had to wait a few weeks... Are they out yet? I mean on the market?

Finally, I'm a financial guy so no I will not trade you the Bridge for the Statue. Do you realize how much i collect in tolls everyday. And what do you have. Some mentally challenged tourists paying $10.00 to go stand in some ladies torch? WTF?Crazy tourists, a real New Yorker never goes to the Statue... We are so dumb... All this cool shit and we ignore it.. Yet we go to the beach and collect shells? WTF is that all about? Anyway, I digress..

Still only 5 day old bike to me so I'm learning, investigating options, and will do whatever seems right at the end of the day.

    Later,

    Doug C

Well, once you get the exhaust on, it will SOUND a lot faster! At least 15hp on the butt dyno ;)

Then the Power Commander with some off-the-shelf map will smooth everything out and increase power a touch. Then you can decide if it's worth going catless...

hey man i would absolutly not buy it might look good but way tooo much for an 02 I have an 01 vfr800 interceptor, with power commander, led kit, smoke signals, custom mirrors, zero gravity winscreen, and seargant seat for 4200 and it only has 13,000 miles.my opinion wait, for 6grand you could find a better bike.i use to jump on the first thing i saw that looked good even if it was out of my range of what i could afford.my advice take the 6grand and find a decent bike with low miles and spend the rest on moding it out.good luck this is my baby a later pic so all the mods werent on IMG_20121207_152822.jpg
