    Hi,

I'm in the process of taking the forks apart. I have had a pair of Race Tech cartridge emulators, seals and bushings on the shelf since 1995 (!), but lost the Race Tech instruction sheet.

Anybody? I remember there are some holes to be drilled in the pistons - what size and which holes - too many details for my brain to remember for over 15 years....

I'm having a shop build me an Ohlins rear shock - getting ready for some track time !

    Br,

    Here you go mate.

    EMULATOR FITTING REQUIREMENTS

Make sure you remove all anti dive valves (in other words oil lock valves, springs etc) if you don't the anti dive will still activate despite what race tech say.

If you need any more info please ask.

    Cheers

    Thanks,

I know there is a VFR specific instruction sheet.... including drilling and setting the emulators prior to assembly.

You don't happen to have this?

Are these alright to use with Sonic Springs or so you need shorter springs for this application?
I was thinking about purchasing some but wasn't sure if they would work with them.

The standard spring has a total free length of 372.4mm
The std cruciform plastic spacer is 198 mm
When everything is installed,(without emulator) the cruciform spacer protrudes above the stanchion by 6 mm.The fork cap & washer length is 14.5mm therefore there is 21.5 mm of preload on the spring within the fork assembly, (do not confuse this with preload of the bike on its wheels)
Cartridge emulator length is 14 mm

Therefore if using std spring you will need to reduce the std cruciform spacer by 14 mm to maintain sag.
If you use a longer spring just reduce the cruciform spacer accordingly its plenty big enough.
Just check length of sonic spring, and see if it will fit within the dimensions given above.

To be honest, you should not have a problem at all.
    Hope this helps.
