Found this site while searching for an early 80's VFR 1000R for sale. I look forward to gaining alot of good info on VFR's as I have recently purchased an 86 VFR 750 with about 10k miles. It's a little rough but I think it will be a good project. Would be interested in talking with anyone who might have some parts that I can use: mirrors, cowling, original exhaust, etc.
As for me; I've been involved with bikes of all types for many years but somehow keep coming back to the Honda. I've also been racing bikes for the past 15 years. I have raced the modern types but now am involved with the United States Classic Racing Association here in New England.
I'd appreciate any leads on the VFR 1000R and any help on parts for my VFR 750.

Hi and welcome to the group. Sounds like you made a good score, even if it needs a little work on it.

You mean mid-80's VF1000R, right? They were not VFR's but rather just VF's and they were only imported to the US in 85 and 86.

They are still around and many are in good shape. Be willing to pay though. Good luck!

Your early VFR750 - they were way better than any VF1000 in all departments including engine.

Smashed 24 hour records etc when they came out.
