Just wondering what people think of D&D exhausts in black satin &/or carbon? Are they good quality, too loud, good value, etc? I am looking for an affordable pipe for my '98 & am considering buying from the US as we don't have a lot of choice here in Australia...apart from Staintunes which are sooooooo expensive  Thanks for the help.

I have a D&D slip-on that I guess is polished aluminum (?) - it weighs about half what the OEM can does, came with my new-to-me '96 4G, and it sounds awesome, I disagree with "raspy" characterization - it has a deep rumbling tone at idle, beautiful sound under load. I receive a lot of comments from riders both behind and in front of me on how nice it sounds, I don't think it's obnoxiously loud, but I can hear the exhaust note when I'm rolling at any speed less than about 90. It brings out the "Chevy small block" tone of the 750 v4, it has a K&N filter and the carbs may have been tuned a little, there is a barely perceptible crackle when letting off the gas while higher in the rev range (7000rpm+). Glorious. Build quality seems great, nothing but good things to say about the D&D.

I've heard some great soundclips of the Yoshimura on YouTube, but no experience with that pipe live and in-person.

    Best wishes!

    PD

    Just a update
I bought D/D slip on stainless steel last year and after one season of use here is my take.
Pipe sounds really great even better after one year however it also shows lot of rusted spots mostly on the main pipe and where it connects to exhaust.I am little disappointed since I expected more but you get what you pay I guess.Solution for me is to sand the rust and paint the whole thing matte black exhaust ceramic paint.
Other then cosmetic issues I like the pipe.In reference my stock Honda showed to rust after over 10 yrs of use.

I've heard D&D on several bikes and have conclude they make the worst sounding cans on the market. The sound just echos in the can. Straight pipes sound better.
