So I've been having some issues with the throttle lately. I did the test where you move the handlebars from side to side with the bike running to check the cables. It seems to be sticking, but only when I let go of the throttle. That is, when the bike is running or not, if you give it full throttle, it stays there and doesn't return without me actually moving it back. I took apart the throttle housing and the plastic throttle piece (where the cables attach) is rubbing on the throttle housing on the lower side (next to the grip). The grip is not rubbing anywhere. Also, when looking at the cables on the other end, there is some slack in the cable. So, two questions-

    1) Is there a way to make the throttle not rub against the housing, or do I just need to lube it up so there's less friction?

    2) On the other end, do I just need to tighten up the cable? Seems like that's all there is to it.

I would post some pictures, but all the ones that I took came out blurry and you can't see anything. Sorry.

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks in advance.

BOTH cables should have slack between the cable holder bracket on the carbs and the throttle wheel.....

So I took apart the cables at the carbs and then disconnected it from the throttle housing. After that I disconnected the throttle itself from the housing. What I found was the throttle was rubbing against the clip on. It was rubbing so much that it was stopping the throttle from coming back fully when I let go. I cleaned up the clip on and throttle with some emery cloth and I've lubricated the cables. After the cleaning the throttle spins on the clip on like butter. My next plan (probably tomorrow) is to re-attach the cables and reassemble everything. Thanks again for the posts.
