Can Someone tell me where to connect the carb sync gauges on an 1991 vfr 750f?

Also what the procedure is to do a carb sync would help tremendously as well.

    Thanks,

    Dave

I stole this from Motorcycle Repair: VFR 700 INTERCEPTOR, internal combustion engines, vacuum leaks

Synchronization: This is a fine adjustment performed usually and preferably with the carbs installed and the engine running. The unusual part is performed with gauged wire with the carbs on the work bench. Carburetor synchronizing balances Venturi vacuum at the exhaust side of each carburetor, resulting with smooth idling and optimized performance at all throttle openings. Synchronization is checked using a set of gauges which are either air vacuum type or liquid mercury type. The gauges are connected to vacuum ports on the intake manifolds via nipple tubes or if sealed with screws, sync gauge adapters will be needed. With the engine running at temperature, and with a fan or means of forced convection aimed onto the engine, the carbs fuel screws and idle are adjusted, then the synchronization is adjusted via adjustment screws on the carbs. A reserve fuel tank is recommended for convenience of accessing carbs during this procedure. See gauge instructions and repair manuals for detailed use of synchronization gauges.

    crustyrider...thank you

Can you tell me some more info....so the gauges are connected to the screws in the manifold...then the slotted screw on the side of each carb is adjusted...??
It seems logical...but I can remember ...I have not synched carbs in over 20 years (don't laugh)

The screw's are in the valley dead center of the carbs. Two in the rear and one in the front. The adapters screw into the head (memory may serve me wrong on this) two phillips screws on the left side of the engine and the right may or may not have emissions hoses in the ports on the right side. The right rear is a bit of a bitch to get to.

Synch is no fun on these bikes, trying to find a small screw with the tip of a screwdriver from the bottom up, in a narrow, hot , darkish place!!

7mm socket should fit as well and tends to work a little better because you can turn the screws without putting pressure on them, and it is best to wear gloves because it does get HOT.

Are we talking about the same thing? I only see a Philips screw between the carb and head????

Do you have a pic to illustrate what I should be looking at as I don't see a 7mm bolt.

    thanks
