So I noticed a small oil leak coming from the drain bolt. I go to tighten the bolt and it doesn't. I unscrew the bolt and notice metal shavings in the bolt threads. I try a new bolt and it doesn't tighten like the old one.

What are my options? Do I need to start hunting down a new/used oil pan?

TIA... this board and folks on it are awesome!

Thanks for the link and idea. That makes sense and should solve my problem.

I think Randy just did that a few months ago. I used to have quite the issue with mine dripping a little, but I try and swap the copper washer every oil change now, and that seems to help a little. I just snug it up pretty good, but I suppose if you are real particular, you could go with the torque wrench.
