Does the bike come with this cowl or is an option part?
The bike is shown on the website with the cowl and there is no mention of the bike being shown with "optional accessories" It is also not listed in the addon section of the website.
    Thanks

VFRs come with the rear cowl. Thou I've seen it were dealers keep em off till they sell. Buying a used VFR, this is one of those things that happens. I stand that if it don't have the cowl then I move on unless it is one hell of a deal, but anyone that takes care of a VFR should have it wether it's on the bike or not.

The dealer sold me my bike without handle covers and seat cowl. Once I found out that they come with it, I went back to the dealers and made them find it.

That was the reason I was asking I bought a new one last weekend and it had no cowl. I pick it up next Monday and want to make sure I get what is coming to me. It was not on in the showroom ,which is understandable, and I forgot to ask. But I ain't leaving without it

Yeah Ratfink (love the name) you tell em! Is it used? If they don't have the cowl make them get you one or give you some money back. I think they run like $130 NEW.. Bullshit ripoff. You can have on made for $60 but not for my year.

I found one on there a while back and missed the end of the auction. I see alot for 01' and newer but not a 99'. I haven't looked in a while though. I have a favorite search that I get a report from everyday and no luck there.

Yeah its a brand new 2006 . First bike I have had in almost ten years.
Just wondering if at 44 i'm a little to old for it lol. Thought I wanted a cruiser (vtx1300) until I drove one. It just felt unsafe to me having to lift your foot up to push the brake pedal. And there where other things. So as a whim I drove the VFR and came back giggling.

    Mine came without cowl

    In Australia.

The dealer told me they dont come complete with a rear cowl anymore.

They told me that the law is (recent change) if the bike is built for a pillion passenger, the seat must be available all times. They can sell them new with them on, but would have to remove the rear footpegs

The VTR1000 have the same rules, they dont come with a cowl either.

However - they are available aftermarket and they ordered one for me, and sold it at what they said was cost. AU$160

    Sounds fishy to me..

I'd say you were royally screwed by your dealer.

It's a brand-new '06 and they can't find the cowl? I'd definitely be complaining about that.

Well i picked up the bike today and was given the cowl without having to whine or stamp my feet or ,for that matter, even ask for it.
So now all I have to do is wait for spring.

So i rang another Honda dealer. They said they come with the cowl. I went into the dealer who sold me the bike. They had a 2006 black bike with the cowl on display. So I was wondering what the crap was they fed me about the legality of having a cowl on the passengers seat. They rang Honda AUS. Apparently the first shipment came without the cowl. Honda credited the dealer for the cowl. I got $160 back - and so i put it towards my new jacket - and to thier credit, I got 10% off the jacket too. Im happy now - this site just saved me $160 - thank you all !!!!

Well I won me a rear cowl yesterday on ebay. Now if it would just stop being winter I would be happy, not really cuz I am stoked about the skiing season. Why can't I have both.
