My VFR is a Canadian bike. So everything is in metric. What do I need to switch it out?

Are you talking about speedometer, odometer and trip? It's probaby all digital LCD display. Can you select SAE units by pressing a series of buttons?

If not, I would keep it the way it is. Metric is cool, and the whole world should be using it.

It is mostly the speedometer I am trying to figure out - when you are out on a road by yourself and not able to pace traffic it is a pain to run a constant calculation to determine whether you are speeding or not. I am trying t determine whether I just need a new speedometer back or a new gauge or what.

Does the 5th gen have a digital speedo or the needle type? You can get replacement speedo inserts or make your own.

Yep needle. So if I get an insert, it should be okay? Hmm... maybe I will find one so the gauges match while I am at it.
