Yes, remove vaccum chamber covers to access slide needles.

ok is there a trick to getting them apart? the stock needles are quite a bit different.

BTW...the kit is called Dynojet..distributed by roadkrome/motovan in canada..

Did you say that 120 is the stock size?

I have an aftermarket pipe...gianelli is the brand ( italian i guess)...can i leave it on? or should I go back to the stock pipe?

SO what are the #s on the idle jets ???

Dynojet (K&N) has an 800# for questions about their jetkits and can help you.

It seems like your idle jets may be plugged and need cleaning if the bike needs choke to run, or the jets could be too large cuz PO changed them, and no amount of playing with main jets or needles will fix that issue. Have you verified that the float setting are correct ??

I'd recommend against any changes to your carbs now because presumably the bike was running right before. All the jet/ needles will affect is higher speed operation, and that has nothing to do with starting or idle speed operation. Changing too many things at once can confuse matters.

FIX THE STARTING PROBLEM (idle jets, mixture screws) FIRST........ then play with main jets /needles if the bike fouls plugs at mid-to-high speed or has performance problems.

An Italian exhaust ???? KEEP IT whatever you do !!!!!!

the number on the jets are 124 and the ones i put in is 120. Should I put the #124 jets back in then?

no, the bike didnt run properly since i bought it!!! I just want it to run properly...i dont care about performance after 70mph.. really wont go that fast

The exhaust was supposedly a custom carbon fibre one -off...

Still have not addressed the question most relevant to good starting: What #s are the idle jets ???

How many turns out are the mixture screws?? And have you changed the fouled plugs ???

sorry but what do you mean by what numbers are on the idle jets?

I guess the numbers i gave you were the main jets...please explain a bit more...where are the mixture screws? On the side of the carbs?

No I havent changed the fouled plugs yet...

    CHANGE fouled plugs first.

Try starting without using any choke or minimal amount for just 30 seconds.

Only dive into carbs if bike won't start and idle.

You really need to study the Honda service manual, which will answer your ???

ok...so after several days of not having an idea of what i was doing....and with no fear of ruining the bike....I painstakingly cleaned the carbs and removed the jetkit....I noticed also the needles from the dynotjet kit were a slightly different length and diameter...not a good sign...anyway i put everything back together and fired the bike up...and it started with minimal choke!!! Even with the fouled plugs in there!!!

tommorrow I sync the carbs and everything should be good to go.

Many thanks to all that helped especially ToeCutter!!! Who was right once again!!! Youre awesome dude...and I wouldnt have this bike ready without you and the other guys here!!!!

Good to hear. I would be suprised if your repair was not the best thing you could have done. Jet kits do not do these bikes any favors.Let us know how it rides.
