I have a 2004 6th Gen., w/ ca. 18,000 miles. Assuming the forks have never been serviced (I'm not the original owner), should the forks be serviced, and if so, what should be done?

If you are street rider only, then at the minimum change the fork oil.

I just did mine at 11K on my 92 - well worth it. I moved to 10wt belray and the forks are now awesome. Easy process, do 1 leg at at time to maintain alignment etc. Quart of BelRay was $17 at my local
