I am not sure why but latly the speedo error has been bugging meSo, I began searching for an answer to that problem. I almost bought a speedo healer but felt it was too much money and the box was pretty big, given the distinct lack of underseat storage on the VFR I thought perhaps before I bought it I would look around to see if anything else existed. That is when I found12oclock Labs he makes the speedo healer himself it is tiny and very easily programed. It took me about 3 minutes to install and set. Also it is about 20 bucks less. Just a little info in case anyone is interested and the folks at 12oclock are wonderful to deal with. wilburj:flypig::flypig::flypig::flypig::flypig::flypig::flypig::flypig::flypig::flypig:
Wilburj: Many thanks for bringing this to my attention! I drives me crazy that such a precision machine should have a speedometer so inaccurate, in the digital age there's really no excuse for it. This will correct my biggest complaint about my red '07. Thanks again, Bob S.
I dialed my speedoDRD in this week real nice and sweet like. The VFR, an 04 model was off by over 12% on the speedometer. I was using my Garmin E-Trex to show the actual speed or as close as I can get to true speed I suppose. On 12Oclockers web site there is a calculator to punch in your GPS number and the speedometer number and it does the calculation or if you do not have a GPS You can use the gearing calculator by putting in what gears you run and it will do the calculations from those numbers also. Anyway I followed the instructions which can be printed out right from the site ---took the bike for a ride and found the bike to be within less than 1 MPH faster than the GPS. I spoke to 12Oclocker and he said I could actually get it exact but less than 1 MPH different is fantastic for me. I don't know why but it just feels good to know how fast you are really going. Also another thing this thing does is to show your top speed if you want it to so no more stretching the truth about you fastest speed of the day. Very accurate --Very easy install---inexpensive--brought me peace of mind--and a real plus is when you talk to the company you talk to the boss and he is also a biker I know for certain he rides a WR250R which I also own----that is where I ran across the man and his product. I spoke to him today and he has them in stock for all VFR's and ready to ship and they are a plug and play outfit how easy is that. Thanks ride well wilburj
