Does anyone know what the correct part number is for Sonic springs .95 springs for an 84 VF700F? They have a listing for VFR750/700 83-87 .95 springs PN-10S-095. When I checked with them to verify if these were the correct springs they said they would work with any of the earlier VFs with 37mm forks. I thought the 84 VF7000F had 39mm forks. Are these the ones I need or not? Thanks for the help!

Well according to all of the info that I can find the 83-85 vf700/750 have 39mm forks and the 86-87 vfr700/750 have 37mm forks. Does anyone know if these two bike use the same fork springs? Any help is appreciated. I need to rebuild my forks asap so I can get my bike back on the road its my only transportation at the moment. Thanks

Your only talking .080" (2mm) difference in diameter between the fork tube sizes. The springs should work fine. Can't see how they would bind or anything. Measure the diameter of your springs and get the diameter of the Sonics and compare. If they are .080 or smaller difference I'd use them.

You didn't say why your changing springs. If you want/need more support because your a big guy or you want firmer action you can make the top spacers a little longer by a 1/2" and try that.

If you were talking to Rich Desmond at Sonic, I'd be inclined to trust him. He's great to work with.

The reason I changing the springs is mine have 40,000 plus miles on them and they are worn out. Also one of my fork seals is leaking so I have to take apart the forks anyway. I have heard a lot of good things about sonic springs so I wanted to try their springs.

Yes I have been talking with Rich. He has been great in helping me figure this out. The only problem is his info shows the 84-85 vf700 has 37mm forks but mine are 39mm and they are the ones that originally came on the bike. I am definately going to buy springs from him I'm just trying to make sure I get the right ones.

After speaking with Rich again we determined that the 15S-095 springs would be the correct ones for my 84 VF700F. I highly recommend Rich and Sonic Springs. If the springs are half as good as the service has been so far I am going to be very happy with them.
