Saturday was the Annual Penn Cove Mussel Festival in Coupeville. This is an Island community about an hour & a half or so north of Seattle. You can take a ferry from the mainland and arrive at the south end of the 50 mile long island. And you can drive onto the North end of the island by going over Deception Pass.
We decided to do both. Rode up back roads on the mainland & on to the the island from the north; then south to Coupeville for the festival; then south to the ferry & back for about a 170 mile loop.
The day & the weather looked promising. Clear. 6o degree temps.

    we had fun.......

Looked like a nice ride and great day. Try to post up early next year. Weather permitting, that would be a doable ride for a few of us from BC.

Good Idea! We'll keep it in mind. Weather is always a consideration that time of year, but it has been VERY nice for us before.
It's a little town's big annual event & can be pretty entertaining. Vista's of the cascades & Olympics can be stunning.
Besides....Rob (the RT rider) has dual citizenship (speaks Fluent Canadian), so he could translate for us. eh? ;-)

That was fun Bob. I think this is the first time we've ridden that I didn't end up in jail. Refreshing....
