Tonight I have finally laid my bike down:redface:. I was rushing to leave the house and Jumped on forgetting to unlock handlebars and the bike began to tip over. I tried to hold on for as long as I could not wanting to drop my freshly waxed baby but I could not hold it up any longer And I gently layed her down on the pavement. Only damage is cosmetic (scratch on mirror, Broken feeler from peg and small scratches on lower right fairing)
Lesson learn no matter how much I am in a hurry I am always going to take my time mounting my bike)

Sorry to hear you dropped it. Don't feel too bad, it happens. I dropped mine the first tiem I tried to put it on the center stand. I was just a tad off balance and didn;t give it enough umph when I lifted.

I almost dropped mine the other day....and my heart skipped a beat. I wish it were easier to put those side sliders on the bike without having to do all the crazy modifications to the cooling system and fairings!

I don't think there are many who have not dropped their bike at one time or another. And someone once said, we're all on the way to the next drop.....

I just got my biggest VFR scare, I made a left hand turn unto a uphill road that was still a little wet and my back end kicked out a lot farther than I was expecting  , being a californian all my life, I'm not use to having wet roads at 11:00 a.m. on a sunny day, I am now wiser for the experience and will put it down as lesson learned...

I have dropped my bike twice now. The first was from a very slow speed u-turn 8 days after I bought it. The second time was when I pulled up at a set of lights. I never put my right foot down first, but this time I did and my shoelace was caught on the bike. Not a nice feeling, but thankfully I dropped it onto the same side as when I dropped it the first time. Proper bike boots from that date forward.

I agree with you Tones. As soon as I get back from vacation I was going to pick up a pair of riding boots

    dropped my new 06 VFR

I'm a new rider and was lucky enough to land an almost new VFR as my first ride. After clocking a well earned 700 miles (through the cold, rain and wind) within my first three weeks of owning the bike, I really started to feel comfortable. My speeds around turns were increasing along with my skill level.

I was out late, coming home about 2am. Was pushing about 35 on a right hand turn at a light I have gone through several times. Had a perfect out/in/out pattern, leaned it over... and then something happened. The bike slid out from under me and we both went skidding across two lanes. I watched in horror as my new pearl white VFR came to an abrupt stop on the meridan. Thank God only the fairings were scratched (cosmetic damage only), i was okay, and the bike started immediately. What a soldier she is.

However, till this day, a week later, I still can't figure out how I dropped it! I know I was tired, reflexes were slow, I was pushing it pretty hard, but there was no ice, no gravel, not even water. A little uneven pavement but that should not have sent me skidding across the road.

I had to get that off my chest. Dropping the bike was a rush, especialy since it didn't land me in the hospital. However, the beautiful pearl White finish no longer sparkles. I'm a little gun shy now but still riding hard...well, until my next drop anyway. Viffaa!!!
