Even so, I'm still not concerned. I have not read one problem that anyone has had associated with a gutted exhaust. The guy who's model I followed has ran his over 10k miles with no problems. I appreciate the input, though.

    +1.
I cant stand the look of the standard pipes.
    9Kg heap of junk IMO.
They belong in the "what was honda thinking?" bin.

The stock exhaust is what made me take notice of the 6th gen VFR, im a fan of the stock pipes. Although I have sense taken the stock exhaust off and installed the Leo's. Im a big fan of the LEO VINCE OVAL EVOII ALUMINIUM WITH CONICAL END CAPS. If you haven't seen them take a look. The stockers are very heavy, I do agree.

    Me too.

To clarify this so no one is scared off by gutting pipes, It does not effect compression.....compression in the motor will stay where it's supposed to be. Less back pressure is the only obvious difference and isn't significant enough to ever worry about.

My final .02 would be for you to chose the Leo's if it's only between those two. Two Bros says their exhaust provides slightly better numbers because of the single can set up, but I think paying that much for 1/2 of what is useless is stupid. The Carbon Fiber Leo's w/conical ends look best, IMO.

Like I said, I wasn't looking to argue with, or piss anyone off. You seem to feel differantly, so just let me say that they're are in fact a number of people who are "scared off by gutting pipes." If you don't believe that there are measurable drops in several areas after a gut than fine. However, before you and others, continue to unknowingly spread bad info to the masses, go get a dyno baseline, gut the exhaust, and dyno again. Then call me a liar. FYI, the second can on any 6 gen is stupid and useless, 2bros realized it and used it to their benefit by increasing weight savings through the removal of the y-pipe and using a short can design. They are the only ones to have come up this simple and most effective approach. All 6 gens are technically a 4 into 1 anyway. So if the point of an aftermarket purchase is to gain the most performance benefit, than it occurs to me that spending the money on a 2bros. is the smartest money spent (no offense to the other brands), as that system offers the most benefit, and not indeed "useless and stupid" as you would have others believe. Like I said before, 2bros was looking at maximum benefit, they achieved it with a one operating can set-up, and were forced to install a second "dummy" can for aesthetic reasons.

I'm thankfully leaving for the Virgin Islands today, so that's all the time I have to argue, but by all means, continue on.

I been looking for a bit at the different exhaust systems.

I think the conical carbon fiber leo's are the way i like to go. Problem is i can't seem to find them. I really like the removal sound baffles on the leo vs the ones that come with the 2 bothers valve setup.

Also the two brothers systems are cheaper in the carbon fiber. The best deal i can find the leo's for is in the mid 800's shipped.

Where as i can get the 2 brothers carbon valve setup in the low 700 range shipped.

More then likely go with the 2 brothers setup just on the cost alone.

I'm not here to argue, either. I'm stating my opinion, not "making others believe" one way or another. People make up their own minds on which one is better...I made up mine and I chose to spend far less money for a sound that couldn't be better (IMO, of course ). Whether good or bad to anyone else but me, I could give a 1/4 of a shit. This thread will now be in my past. Arrivederci.

Just a quickie, has anyone got some good photo's of the Leo's oval shape exhausts on their bike? I wouldn't mind seeing them as no one seems to have a good pic of one.

    Thanks

Ive got a set of Leo V on my 2008 and they look the part. Exhaust note when throttling off is fantastic and not too difficult to fit.

    My Leos installed.

Pretty easy install. The 'bullet' tips came instead of the ovals that I ordered. But it looked pretty nice so kept em.

    Sounds GREAT!
