I don't own the Venture pants but I do own the Tour Master Flex pants. They are basically identical to the Venture pants you are looking at with the exception that I can also remove some of the outer layer of the pants to make them more comfortable in high heat. They are made of great quality and after a year of use show no signs of use. They fit very accurately according to Tourmasters chart. Keep in mind when checking their chart, they are meant to be overpants. Wearing them with nothing underneat they are a tad loose but that is why you can adjust them around your waist. I was going to purchase the Venture pants until I found out they made the Flex. I do a lot of riding in all conditions so flexibility in use was very important to me. If you like the looks of them and the style, go for it. Every textile piece that I have seen or owned from Tour Master has been of great quality.

The flex look very nice. It seems like those could be worn all year round opposed to just when its cooler like the venture. How are they when you have both liners out? I imagine they have to be kinda bulky to be able to fit both liners.

They are absolutely wonderful when the liners are out. They move with you very well and your mobility is never hindered one bit. When the both liners are in they are a tad bulky but nothing more than any other winter gear that you would wear. I feel like I have a snowmobile suit or a pair of carhartts on with them in cold weather. They still don't limit your mobility since they are shaped for the riding position. The insulated liner is what adds most of the bulk. With the waterproof liner in by itself you can barely tell it is in there. I did a TON of searching when finding some riding pants for me. Money is quite tight and for whatever I had to buy it had to work year round. It came down to the Flex and something else that I cant remember and the Flex was a superior product in the end. I've ridden in conditions above 100F and was still nice and cool and conditions below freezing and was actually overly warm. The ability to wear the two liners individually as well as remove outer sections of the pants gives you the ultimate flexibility in how you want to feel.

I have only one complaint about the Flex pants and it more of a mild annoyance than a problem. When you have a liner installed, you can't put the pants on with your shoes/boots on. This is because the zipper on the liners only go up about 12 inches yet the zippers on the pants themselves go above the knee. It is simply a small oversight in design. 90% of my riding is done without liners so I rarely notice it. Unless it is a downpour I don't wear the waterproof liner as it isn't really needed and I don't wear the insulated liner unless it is below 45F out. If you're looking for year round gear I dont think you will find anything better unless it has come out in the last year.

Thanks for the input Meatloaf. You have made up my mind. I like the idea of getting a pair of pants that I can use all year round instead of just when its cold out for less than $50 more. Thanks again.

In case you need another vote for the Flex pants...love them. I have never worn then with either liner in my three or so years of wearing them. And that is down to a smidge under 40 degrees. I do take the "cover" off to get to mesh in the summer. Comfy in 100-105 degrees.

They are hard to find, and not sure why more dealers don't carry them, but don't forget about the Venture Air pants. I think they are pretty new, not exactly sure though. They look just the same as the Venture pants, but they are the armor link mesh. I've got them, and they are especially great in the hotter temperatures. The air just passes right through, and helps keep you cool. Also, they come with the 2 stage liner, and so you will stay plenty warm in the winter as well. Hope this helps!

Glad to see others share my opinion. I had to have mine ordered because nobody stocked them even though they could order em. Mine were out of stock for six weeks since I ordered them in the short variety. Even the guys on ebay were out of them.

Wow. That is pretty chilly. I ordered the Flex pants today from New Enough. Should hopefully be here by the weekend.

Well, I got to take the bike out today for the first time this season, and also got to test out my new pants. I am impressed. It was only in the low 50s, but my lower half was not the least bit chilly. When I tried them on when I got home from work last night I did notice that they were pretty bulky, so I took the waterproof liner out. I've got a rain suit that I use, so the liner probably won't be needed. I got a size medium, and probably could use a medium long, but they are on extended back order at most of the websites I have seen, so I'm not going to worry about it.

Overall, I'd say they are really good. I can't wait til this summer to see how the mesh works. I'm assuming its gonna be very comfortable. So you could say I am satisfied.

    Thanks everybody for your input

Just an update. I rode home from my girlfriend's house at 1 this morning. The temp gauge said 23 degrees. A little chilly, but the pants did well. I was mostly cold around my neck, feet, and hands, but that's my own fault. Pants work great!

I'm glad you dig em and they are working well for you. I get the same problems on my hands/feet/neck. One of these days I'll do something about those areas but for now it is tolerable.
