i saw a thread about that recently. I did some searches but can't seem to find it. Post up the link if you find it. I've drilled out the rivets in mine, but I'm at a loss in how to pull the end cap.

    Hey Hoblick:

I can't view the vids because I am at work.

But I know fellow VFRW member punisher12b did this mod.

    PM him for details.

Oh, and please post up more half-naked pics of your woman.

That first vid is my bike... I used a chopsaw at my local scrap metal recycler - he's a small time guy, works outta a little mini-warehouse and let me borrow the saw in exchange for the left over can and guts.... I cut about 3 inches past the end of the hanger bracket and that put me almost exactly (I had to trim a tiny bit more) at an interior baffle... I then dremeled out about a inch and a half of the interior baffle into the can so that I could slip the end piece back in and just drilled and secured with sheetmetal screws the end cap after drilling out the spot welds that held it onto the old can.... I later went back in with a larger rotary tool and removed all the interior baffling and that's the sound you hear on the video... Approx 8K miles since then with no issues and *great* sound - definitely my favorite mod, sounds sweet and not too loud but definitely noticeably louder - very much like my old '66 small block Mustang... Be prepared for a marked increase in back-pressure "shotgunning" tho (A benefit in my opinion!)

I bit the bullet and just went for it tonight. Took a hacksaw to the can and cut off about 8" of can. I drilled out the rivets and used a cold chisel to remove the end cap for the left over part of the can. Put the cap back using some machine screws. I can't wait to fire it up tomorrow and listen to the music!

I did a little test ride this morning. The sound is awesome! It is significantly louder than stock but not to the point of being obnoxious. I think my step-dad's Harley with aftermarket pipes is still louder. I'm very happy.

It sounds like alot of work written out but the whole job only took me about 2 hours. And that is with hand tools.
