I am looking at getting a buel blast as a street fighter and keeping my vfr as a hobby bike. So what do you think would be faster.
from what I understand the buel is only a single piston so I would have to say that its slower. But I would think it would have more low end torque.

If you assume that the factory specs are correct, the VF should be a considerably better all around bike. HP, torque, fuel capacity, gearing...all favor the VF. The Blast is lighter though will give you more MPG...

Neither are gonna break any land speed records................................. The Blast if I remember correctly, was an urban commuter with hand guards and everything. Also this....

Buell is recalling 1,307 MY 2007-2008 Blast motorcycles. The fuel tank may experience some local deformation under high-heat conditions that creates contact of the tank with the cylinder head. In some of these cases, the cylinder head rubbing on the fuel tank has created a fuel leak. This could result in a crash or fire, which could cause injury or death to the rider. Dealers will install a bracket which will prevent the fuel tank from contacting the cylinder head. The recall is expected to begin during September 2008. Owners may contact Buell at 1-414-343-8400.

    Just FYI

Try to get a test ride, I've had alot of thumpers and never liked them on the street, best to test ride and see if it's what you had in mind.

This is what Eric Buell thought of the blast, an actual Buell Blast is pictured here...

He crushed all remaining stock and discontinued the line.

I had an '86 500 Interceptor, and It would hang with (not pass) my '78 Ducati 900 SD (super Darmah). The Ducati had Jerry Branch flowed Heads, 40mm carbs, Big bore hi compression kit, and a Conti exhaust. It was no slouch..... and after 100mph it would steadily pull away, but I never considered that little Honda slow at all. Blast's ARE slow. You may have more fun with a Zuke DRZ400SM, or a Husky 450 or 610 SMR, now thats some fun right there! Or, you can find a used Kawasaki ZRX1100 or 1200, super cheap, super fun, and if you need a stump pulled out of the ground............you'd have the torque. My ZRX is the most fun bike I've ever had for the money. Jury's still out on my VFR as this winter has stopped me from going for a decently long ride. Only have about 140 miles since I got it, but Spring is right around the corner! I have a nice 300 mile loop in mind (approx 100 miles of curvey roads) when the winter breaks, that should be enough for an educated opinion!
