Anybody wanting to reuse an exhaust can, putting it on a VFR, I found a source for midpipes. Hindle, unlike many manufacturers, sells their midpipes as a separate part number. Got the midpipe part number off their site and contacted one of their distributors. Street and Competition in Troy, NY took the midpipe only order and said I would have it in a couple days. Sounds good. Let you know how it turns out.

$120 delivered. Not cheap, more than I was hoping to pay, but a third the cost of a new slip-on/midpipe combo. Brock's Performance is a Hindle distributor in Ohio.

Hey Pat how did this Hindle pipe work for you? Up in Canada it's a $150.00 part. If you got the high pipe I'd love to see a pic of it on your bike as I'm considering the same. The localwrecker has a few C F slip ons I'm thinkin' of.

Well after convincing the dealer and the distributor (Moto-Van) that they can in fact order one in, They've got one on the way, by now it should be 2-weeks out still. I picked up a Scorpion Carbon fiber can off of an R1 from Craigslist. I understand that the staintune and this one don't need rebuilding so that should be good. I'll try to remember to post a pic when done.

Here's a couple pics of my Hindle system.

Mid pipe is nice quality, the bend takes it pretty close to your boot heel. They gave me a chinsy heat shield, but I didn't want to install it.

I re-packed my can after 15,000 kms using Roxul Insulation - not the hindle kit

OK so I got the pipe! I cut off the tab and moved it forward to allow the can to slide forward as much as possible. The pipe did not come polished so I did that as well..not great but plenty good. The Scorpion can is throaty at low speeds and much quieter at high speeds, no complaints at all. the bike has a bit of funk to it that I will have to search info on but for now I'm good to go.

Which brand of high mount exhaust system are you looking for? Every aftermarket high mount exhaust system that I've ever purchased included the mounting brackets.

    Red arrow = header

    Yellow arrow = mid pipe

    Blue arrow = exhaust can

I had no luck finding hindle hi mount when I was looking. Maybe a recommendation to a place that sells them would be helpful..

These things are just getting harder and harder to locate as our bike ages..

I ended up buying a GPR exhaust and pipe (as the only other option I found - the guy took 2-3 months to reply to an email enquiry it was about $240 AUD just for the pipe)

    GPR + hi mount pipe = $450 - 500 USD

I'm sorry I thought for sure it was all there to see... besides my heart fluttered in panic when I read that parts are getting harder to find as our bikes age. I'm fine but my bike might have a mid life crisis at ten years old!
