    Hi all,

It's been awhile since I posted, track season is coming to an end  so I'm starting to get my VFR ready for the winter riding season and thought I would give you some feedback on some recent mods I've made.

The first one is my favorite, it's easy, cheap and very useful, adding a cigarette lighter adapter to power electrical devices. I HATE cutting into the fairing to add things so I've been trying to find an alternative location to mount a cigarett adapter to my bike to power my GPS and to recharge my cell phone on trips.

I found this cig adapter at Shucks that has a bracket on it, I straightened the bracket out and bolted it to the upper mounting bolts of the gas tank. I put a 20amp fuse on it and wired it to the battery pos terminal. Works great, doesn't bind at all, and only cost $10.00 and best of all I didn't have to cut into the fairing, woohoo!!!

I bought the BLS lowering pegs from Larry and couldn't be happier with them. My knees are in horrible shape from abusing them over the years and these were a great mod. Most of the details have been posted by other members, I just wanted to give Larry a big thumbs up for these, great product that is a big help for those of us with knee problems. Thanks Larry!!:thumbsup:

I like these a lot as well, Grip Puppies and Throttle Rocker from Motorcycle Accessories from California Sport Touring, Inc. They help a lot keeping the wrists and hands comfortable on long trips. I also added the left hand Throttle Rocker as well, these are great mods that greatly increase the comfort level for long trips.

I also added a MRA windscreen. I'm not really pleased with this for the cost. It does help some, but it still isn't what I'm looking for, I wanted something that would give me more of a Goldwing type experience so I could ride without earplugs. Don't get me wrong, it is an improvement, but much over 60mph there is a lot of wind noise. I don't really think it was worth the bucks.

Thanks for this thread. I missed it the first time, but I was searching around trying to figure out where to cut my fairings. I have exactly the same power outlet and have just been clipping it on to my tank bag, but now I see that I can do the same thing you have and it'll be out of my way once and for all, but still reachable... One thing, how is the clearance when you have a plug plugged in to it?

Wow, this was an old post!! No problems with clearance at all, both bars hit the stops. Since this post I got a little trickier with it. I used to have my Gerbing connector come out from underneath the tank, and it was kind of a PITA to connect, had to pretty much do it before I got on the bike. So I drilled a bit bigger hole in the bracket and just ran the wiring though it. It works great, I no longer have to look down to disconnect\connect.
