How do these things hook up/in to the bike?
Is a custom map a necessity?
Can you remove it & sell it to someone else?
    Are they worth it?

Lately, they've been getting cheaper on Ebay so I might get one.

    Thanks

I have a '06 so this might not apply to your gen, but it was a worthwhile investment for me. It took away almost all of the on/off throttle behavior, no more low speed surging, got rid of the 6500 rpm dead spot and smothed the VTEC transition. I can't say anything about a power increase since I don't trust butt dynos, but it is smoother in the lower RPM ranges. In a nut shell: I like it.

It takes about 20 minutes to uninstall - there are no modifications to the stock wiring - plug and play. I'm running the map that came with it, but there are others out there you can try.

Cyclemart has some pretty good prices (shipping included) so you might want to check them out. I've only ordered from them one time, but very good customer service. Cost me $225 and I had it in a week, even shipped by the carrier of my choice (hate UPS).

Ditto to what WVFR states. I'm happy with the stock map and probably won't ever fool with it since it achieved exactly what I wanted it to. Lots and lots of custom maps available though depending on your configuration (pipe, air box mod, etc), so whether you need one or not will depend on your current set up.

    o2 sensors

do you have to disable the o2 sensors for them to work, and do you notice much of a rise in fuel consumption?

Hmm, I got mine on ebay used, so yes to 'can you disconnect it and resell it to someone' I got mine for $50 so yes to 'is it worth it' to advantages, it seems liek more power to me. the front tire floats much easier, maybe takeoff is a little faster. To disavantages, mileage dropped around 5 mpg for me. I get in low 30s now. :) 'Is custom map necessary?' well, I used a generic one for a different pipe and it didnt run great. I switched to one for stock bike and it runs pretty good. Probably would be slight performace increase for me to get custom map for my setup, but I'm waiting to see if I 1. find the map from someone with exact same setup or 2. buy full race exhaust and get it custom mapped.
