    Hello Gang.
Still have my smile after each ride on VFR, but it comes with the price - I need new tires.
I ride in South Florida - no cold or too much rain.
Read about M3 from Metzeler and Michelin.
    Would appreciate any recomendations.
    Gino

Pick your Poison... Mileage or performance. Allow me to over simplify. The more performance the less mileage you will get. Now that said, everyone's performance tire is different as is everyone's riding style and behavior is different.

Mileage and performance, Michelin Power Roads, Bridgestone BT021 or even the new Pirelli Angel
Performance Michelin Power pilot 2ct, Bridgestone BT016, Continental Road attack and even the Pirelli Corsa III

If you commute a lot and don't hammer the curves and want like 10,000 Bazillion miles from your tires get the Mich Power Road. If you like performance but commute and hammer the roads on weekends get the Mich Power Pilot 2Cts or the Bridgestone BT016...

All fo the above was the opinion of the author and does not necessarily represent the opinions of the board. All information is intended for information sharing and not to tell you what to do and or cause a flame war. Feel free to use or ignore. Good Luck and enjoy your ride.

Just changed out my stock Metzlers for Michelin Pilot Powers 2CT this weekend and really like them so far. Got a great price too, check out this sale at Cycle Sector:

    $199 - MICHELIN PILOT POWER 2CT SET 120/70 180/55

They also have the Pilot Road 2CT complete set for $235. Probably gonna buy those this week at that price and just keep them till my Pilot Power set wear out.

I consider 3000 miles a decent run for a performance rear tire... That being said, I try and get the cheapest tires I can find that seem to do the job. I have good luck with plain pirelli diablos, mich pilot road, conti road attacks, and even shinko tires. If they were all the same price, I'd get the Conti RA and expect about 3000 miles from rear tire. I should note, though that for some reason the road attack front always seems to cup after a bit for me and I get a little shimmy in front end if I let go of the bars going fairly fast. Granted, there is not much call to let go of the bars, but I do it to check the feel of the front. The pirellis never seem to do that for me. I have never tried a Metz, but wouldn't hesitate to do so if I found a good deal on one...

I run with the Metzs' on my bike and I love them but.... Last week whilst cruising I stopped by a bike place/store and the owner stated that the Mich pps were on sale at a discount price because they (Michelin) are coming out with an updated version. AMDG has found the great deal.

Its really hard to beat Michelin. They just build such great tires. My vote goes to Pilot Road 2CT.

I've been using the M3 for 12,000 miles, several sets of course, and yea, they may not be the longest lasting. In terms of performance however, they are best street tire I've used. I put Pilot Powers on my bike toward the end of last summer because they were on sale and everyone had raved about them. The M3's provide more grip, more lean angle, and for me, more confidence. After going through several sets of M3's and really getting to know them, then trying the Pilots on the cheap, I decided I would never buy Pilot Powers again. I'm not trying to offend anyone here and I havn't tried the 2ct's, but as far as the PP's go, I think that they are comparitive garbage. They just push the front around way too much for my liking, leaving much to be desired in regards to nuetrality. The lean angle thing was big for me too. I have to work dangeriously hard to remove all chicken stripping from the M3, while on the PP's I can wear them down just by using right and left turn merge lanes.

Sport Bike Track Gear usually has pretty decent deals on Michelin tires.

Michelin Tires | Michelin Motorcycle Tire | Michelin Pilot Power 2ct | Power One
