    Hey Mick,

I'm riding up with 4 amazingly great guys Friday. One guy is my brother-in-law, and the other 3 are my regular dirt riding buddies. We are all mid to late 30's and ride smart. We normally ride 50-80 mile loops on our dirt bikes so we ride to survive and come prepared. That translates directly to our street riding. Bikes are 03 CBR600, 01 R1, 03 Tuono, 05 CBR1000, and 05 VFR. Most of us just upgraded rides, but we've been riding very well together for a while now. I live in Oxnard, but we will be meeting with the rest up at the Mesa Cafe in Santa Barbara at about 7 am on Friday. You are welcome to join us if you like. I expect the pace to be mild with frequent stops due to the race replica guys needing to stretch. Send me an e-mail if this sounds like something that could work for you. bktobk3233@aol.com

    >but much cooler in the suit than I would have ever dreamed. up the hill to
    >valley center and down old castle road to gopher cyn rd. almost fell at the

    >guessed. GOOD SEAT! got across vista and home at 2;10pm. I had ridden
    >non-stop from ramona for three hours! got home and could hardly walk. took

    Hi,
I'm new to this site, but I was at Laguna and was pleased to see VFR's well represented. I live in Sylmar, work in Northridge, and enjoy the twisties between Newcomb's (HWy 2) and Santa Barbara. Hope to see you out there (Red '04, Leo Vince Pipes)

    L.A. Saturday Morning Ride-9/18/06

I'm thinking of riding part of Hwy 2 this Saturday a.m. Just a relatively short, relaxed ride, maybe 3 hours total. (I'm still getting used to my new-to-me fourth gen VFR.)

I plan to start the morning at the Starbucks in Alhambra. I was there last Sunday morning, early, and it seems like the perfect place to start. Central and plenty of parking. Address is:

    Fremont Ave & Mission Rd
    1131 S Fremont Ave #A
    Alhambra, California 91803

I'll be there at 7am. Let me know if you are interested. -Mark

edit: It'll be on 9/23/06, not 9/18/06, at 7am. Also, was thinking of riding out to SM or LB for breakfast, as Hwy 2 is closed due to forest fire.

So Cal Riders... old thread but let's keep it alive..

I'm just moved to Hemet (from Northridge) area but still working in Camarillo. I bought an 06 VFR last month and got around 4000 miles already. Mostly highway miles from and back to work (145 miles one way:fear: )

I sold my 03 Honda 600RR for the commute purpose and bought this VFR.

Anyone wants to schedule a VFR canyon run this weekend? I've been on almost every canyon here in the San Fernando/Santa Monica area (Ojai canyons too) BUT I've never been here:

Banning Panoramic Highway that connects to the 74. (See my photos on this site).

Hi So. Cal. Riders...I'm new to this site and live in Orange County. I just purchased my 05 VFR this past Saturday and love it. There are a few upgrades that I'm thinking about...you know...the usual. I haven't had a chance to ride any canyons with it yet...just home to work, etc. On my previous bike, I've taked Ortega Hwy, Trabuco and Santiago Canyons. I hear San Diego and LA have really nice canyons...and less traffic. Lately Ortega Hwy hasn't had the right vibe for the past 3-4 weeks.

PM me whenever you want to ride. Ortega is getting a lot of heat from the residents to the Five-Os. Plus, So Cal's very good friend, Officer Stout, is at the helm on Ortega:caked:, He'll ticket you for riding your VFR there
