I want to thank everyone for your advise. On Saturday I took delivery of my new baby...an '05 Silver VFR...he looks gorgeous. He's so smooth and sounds wonderful. Everything on it is stock, so I'm already thinking about adding some upgrades, such as purchasing factory saddlebags or a trunk. Any suggestions on that?

I'm also thinking of adding a VFR decal on the sides...does anyone know where I can purchase the decals?

    Thanks,
    Vicki

That is the same problem that I had when I purchased mine. I went with the 05 and currently using the 2k savings for items on my wish list

Congratulations on the bike. I have factory hard bags on mine and leave them on all the time, though I really don't use them when riding around town. If you don't mind the looks I feel the top box is the way to go. They are good size and easy to get in and out of while on the bike. Mine came with the bike but if I were to just get one or the other I would go with the top box. I would also recommend a searget seat. Your butt may vary but most of us were not designed for the stock seat. Well that's my .02

Thank you all...you have all been so supportive. Yes, I'll try to have some pics taken of my baby soon. I'm scheduled to go ride in the canyons this weekend with a friend...so be ready for some pics soon.

I spoke to some people regarding saddlebags verses trunk...everyone that I've spoken to prefers the look of the factory saddlebags...they all say the trunk looks like you're carrying a BBQ on your bike. I noticed one of Michael's pictures, on one red bike there is a soft case bungied/strapped to the back seat. That actually looks more appealing, not only do you not have to worry about scraping when you're splitting lanes, but you can also remove the soft case when ever you want...the only thing is, I think the real cowl can not be used at the same time, otherwise the cowl might get scratched...is that true?

Today I purchased a new helmet...mostly because either my head lost weight, or I originally purchased one size too large...I was a little apprehensive of purchasing a helmet that matches the color of my bike (Silver). I currently have a red helmet...and was tought that it's better to be seen, and red stands out more. Me being someone who likes to match, went against my better judgement and purchased the silver helmet. What do you all think? Match the bike? or go with red?

I would say that the helmet colormight make you a little more visible, but not enough to justify being displeased with your overall look. I wear a black helmet and it's flat black no less so my helmet is not all that visible. As for the soft bag on the seat, you are correct about the cowl, I think. There might be some that go over it, but I believe you are right in that it would scratch. I have come to pretty much the same conclusion as you and am looking into getting the seat bag soon myself. I am leaning to the RK or the rocket locker, I think.
