Has anyone been sucessfull getting the factory side case locks re-worked to use the Honda key? I thought I remembered seeing a thread about this, but I can't find anything now. I pulled one of the Givi lock cylinders out and it looks like a fairly standard cam lock cylinder.

I don't think that the locks can be re keyed to use the Honda key but, if you can order a Givi lock set to re key if needed. Much cheaper than the Honda parts. I did this after I bought my top case so I could use one key for both side cases and the top case. It cost me less than $25 and took less than 30min.

There's nothing wrong with my existing locks, my only reason for wanting to do this is so I can use the Honda key for the cases, like the ST1300, Goldwing, FJR1300, etc. It's just a convenience thing, I don't want to carry the extra key. The locks are standard 5 plate double-bitted cam locks. I've checked all the local hardware stores for cam locks but all I found were single-bitted locks. I've ordered some online, they look like they should match the Honda key profile, but I can't be sure until I get them. The key length is not an issue, it's no different than the fuel cap, it only uses the end of the key.

Only snag i can think of is the key grove offsets and perhaps width.

CBR- Sounds like a great idea. If you pull it off let us know. I'd love to drop one key. Super simple!
