My bike needs a respray, but I have no clue what color I will pick. I've only been riding a bike for a few months and fell with it too soon, so I haven't developed too much taste for bikes yet. In any case, I love the classic 90s design of my RC36 and want a color that nicely fits a bike from this age. The paint can be regular, matte, metallic or with other effects. Glow in the dark or chameleon paint would be cool, but I could get tired of it soon.

I edited this photo of my bike, only the wine red couldnt be edited nicely. I think I like it red (and keep the bike OEM), green and wine red. Crazy ideas like matte army paint are welcome.

wait, as an after thought if mine was a blank pallette I would go yellow. Used to be my favourite color. until I got a red bike. now I am married to red. but I also like black. Yellow too.
Argh, why did I wake up in the middle of the night.
    Welcome to the board, BTW.

    hahahah, you're welcome.
I'm a bit more outgoing and like flashy colors. As IT guy we often drive leased company cars, and they all have to be in a "discreet" color: metallic silver or black, that is SO boring

how I did this? select the red with the magic wand, then feather your selection a bit. then adjust the Hue. the red easily shifts to yellow, green and blue. as for the white/gray/black you have to desaturate the red, then use the curve tool to brighten it up (white) or make it darker (black)

I suppose I always wanted a green bike, LOUDLY green, but the only kawasaki I ever owned left me stranded ( it was the green kawi racing color ) so to me that color is like an albatross. Funny that color means so much to me......but it does. My bike is the italian red ( I used to call it hellfire red, but the old fogies on here got offended, so I stick to calling her italian red now ).
*cough cough slipknot rules cough cough*
yeah, I love my red and black bike. If I had to do it all over again, it would be the same. red and black and perfect. course... im one of those that names my bike, and thinks it has personality and refers to "it" as a "she" so....... LOL
I cant wait to see your bike when its done, no matter what color. I will stay subscribed to your thread. I am also painting a bike, color already decided and paint bought... just need a few days off from work - I am not going to rush this project.
    talk at ya soon.

I never would have thought bright lime green would look good on a VFR but I think it looks sharp. I was going to paint mine a dark black cherry before I decided to stay with the Italian red because I thought it would look to dark with the blacked out frame.

If I were to repaint mine, there was a cranberry metallic that Yamaha used in (from memory) 2007 or 2008 on the FJR1300 - modern and wicked

nice cat. nice signature. nice comment. I am being sincere.

I agree, why just one color? the90's bikes have such a HUGE amount of landscape. Put your photoshop skills to work. paint + graphics, or even two tone. Make it exciting, you have to ride it, yes?

I like the dark grey. A couple of red highlights would really make it pop.

aw. how much disassembly did that take? care to post some more high-resolution photos?
I really dig the black frame. it would be the only reason to keep the bike painted red
