hoping people can help, as per my other thread ive just put a new dash onto my bike and the speedo seems to be working but the rev counter is not.

are there any basic things to check for and any areas i need to look at in order o get it working again ?

There should be a single bullet connector to the right side of the dash, is it plugged in?

hmm i don't remember that one but it could be a plug my father plugged in as were doing the bike up together, unfortunately the bike is at his as he has a garage etc etc so I cant check. if that is connected do you know of any other reasons it may not work ? as I'll print a list out and take up next time i go in order to try and correct the fault

Do you have a meter that will read frequency? The tach is driven from siganl off the coil , so you should see frequency match engine rpm at that connector. You may want to be sure the wires are the same color from the harrness to the gauge assembly, F1 was a yellow wire and F2 was a blue wire and on U.S. models the tachometers were not interchangeable.F1 had a secondary engine speed sensor in the head and F2 did not .

thanks for all yer help toecutter on this one, however you wouldn't believe the reason it wasn't working lol

quite simply the needle had somehow gone to he otherside of the pin so it literally couldn't move as it was against the pin !
