I'm almost there, well until I decided to get all the footrest hangers polished. I should have had them sent away weeks ago but couldn't make my mind up if I was going to get them polished.

I can't do much more for at least a week until I get them back. I'll have to go round the bike and make sure I've tightened everything that has come off (and check my camera for dirt on the lense !).

Todays task was fitting the Vtec rear wheel I purchased. The one thing I've never liked about the final model 750 was the shape of the spokes on the back wheel. I had bought the lovely 8 spoke wheel for my first VFR, but they are hard to find and rather expensive when they do crop up. So I decided on the nicer VFR800 style wheel which is also a 5.5" compared to the 5" of the FV model. I did have to do a little bit of metalwork on it to get it to fit, but I'm happy enough with the results. I also fitted a rubber flap to protect the rear shock instead of buying a hugger.

Got the footrest hangers back from Eddie the polisher and got them fitted onto the bike. I didn't want to spend all evening working at them (seeing it was Valentines day and all) so the footrests themselves will have to wait until tomorrow.

This morning, I fitted the rear bodywork and silencer. I fired her up and she sounds all gear driven cammy.............lovely. I must admit to hankering after a high level Remus can for her, but undecided at the mo.

    Hey Davy.
Beautiful job. Did you have any interference problems with the 650 Hawk bars and the fairing? I've gotten conflicting info whether they will work or not. Did you have to lengthen any cables, hoses or wiring?
    Thanks!

I had to cram the levers and switch clusters to the inner end of the bars (not a problem) so that the kill switch and hi/low beam switch didn't hit the fairing. All the cables etc have jusr enough 'pull' on them and I have full lock to lock with no real issues.
