anyone able to geive me details version etc that this is, becuase from what i can see on google, there are so many verisons.

 

this my friend is a red VFR800 and the versions are just different years,. this one appears to be in really good shape what are the miles? and you can find the year on the Vin tag..

 

wouldnt have a clue mate, i didnt think of the mileage ie taking a pciture of it and dont know about the vin tag, dont forget this was a good 2 years back

and from what i remmber the black subject on the left side fairing, it was a switch for soemthing.

 

I believe 2002 was the only year they did the red paint and black wheels but not completely sure. as for the switch that has to be something after market...an alarm maybe?

 

you also need to take into account the yellow decal on the right side of the fairing under the wfr wording, plus the lettering on the right side of the front wheel.

 

it is the first of the 6th generation bikes
the black square on the fairing might be a gear indicator or a voltage guage
those bikes were having all of the wiring issues and r/r failings
the vin tag will be located on the frame on the right side
it has a vtec engine and anti-lock braking

 

so with the 2007 models, i take it they would be better for quality or are the 2007's the exact same as when the vfr 800 vtec came out?

 

The 6th Gen VFR has remained unchanged for the most part over the years except there was a wiring harness recall issued for years 2002-2005 and the VTEC engagement point was lowered from 6800 to 6400 rpm starting in 2006. The newer models also have clear rear turn signal lenses while the early 6th Gens had amber turn signals.
