Welcome aboard! As long as you don't start a post about what gas to use, or what generation is better, you are all good in my book. I am originally from Melbourne, now living in North America. Never rode a motorcycle in Oz, however with all the speed cameras they have these days I could just imagine how much you would have to keep an eye on the needle.

Nice project and welcome. You've got a great country. I was there a few years back for work. I flew into Sydney and traveled up the Gold Coast. It was great. I'd love to do some riding there, but don't think I could get used to driving on the opposite side of the road!!!

Thanks for looking at the VFR, I really do have to get in and tidy it up before the superbikes, but then again warm weather at the moment .. work in hot shed? .. drink beer? .. hot shed? .. cold beer? .. COLD BEER!

Haven't even seen a VFR rider for a while (again summer thing I guess) or really many other bikes in general around Melbourne. Taking in the the map of Tassie sound like a wonderful to be up to ;) Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy!!!

Nah, not even slightly into the whole my bike model is better than yours crap and whether my fuel is colored tangerine yellow or some rubbish. Just ride it and enjoy it and mess around with it if that takes your fancy. The president of Preston motorbike club and a good mate of mine completely destroyed his VFR 750 at Broadford on a ride day a while back going into turn 1 and the most common repair item used, besides replacements for the bent bits that he couldn't bend back, was post office tape!

Visited the states a couple of times and drove from Seattle down to Reno through the hills and not a speed camera in sight. That was a really nice trip and beautiful country. Here, as you know, there is ALWAYS this thought about Mr Plod being just around the next corner waiting to extract several hundred dollars and 3 demerit points, it IS the nanny state!

Cheers from a warm and sunny Melbourne :)

I agree with you very much there and that has also lead to the death of a number of tourists on the Great Ocean Road here in hire cars .. lovely ocean view .. lots of corners .. become disoriented .. revert to 'normal' side of road ... (insert screaching smashing sound)

I drove a car in USA during a holiday and I had a few near misses myself .. one was driving through a roundabout (turnpike????, round thing in middle of intersection) in Seattle the WRONG way ... hehehehe. My american girlfriend at the time nearly shat herself :)

Thanks for your complements on my bike and country. I've had some fun in yours too :) Very green, lots of beautiful things to see and beer is cheaper there.

Ahhh, that explains the " Gods Country " in the location field, do you have a VFR ? its been a while since I saw a GSXR1100 around although did talk to a guy with an excellent original condition early '90s Black on top of Bald Hill about 2 years ago he said it was a torture rack over long distances but he loved it.

Cheers and thanks for the welcome. Don't be too concerned we're not exactly ready for the olympic marathon down here either.

The last Kangaroo I saw was a dead one, they can do a LOT of damage to a car and can prove deadly on the bike. Only really see them around dusk when they are on the move and it's a country thing only. Rabbits are a problem here too, we have some english lord or similar to blame for that in bringing them here for a bit of hunting with the hounds a century or so back. The terminate on site rule kind of applies to anything that invades the spaces, currently dealing with a possum in the roof! Eviction night tonight!

Haha, yeah... my next door neighbour is a builder, if he gets a possum in the wall he grabs the cordless nail gun, shoots about a dozen nails into the wall, then just cuts the possum and plaster out in the one go... Have fun with the eviction.

No we don't. I've lived in Sydney for ten years and I've only seen one kangaroo. Country people see them but not people who live in the major cities. - I live in the suburbs, about 30 km from the city centre...not many kangaroos here. OTOH, there are always spiders and snakes... :`(

That is just superb. Quite a few laughs from that solution, fantastic. If it wasn't a rental property a wall section would have come out ages ago. F^&KEN little C#$*TS of things.

Tired of climbing under house finding and blocking holes only to find the little turd has dug through something somewhere else. If it wasn't in the city (and neighbours) would have been fixed ages ago.

Getting to the point where I reckon judging by the extra weird scratching noises tonight and much later than usual roof departure time that mr possum might have discovered my latest chemical solution to the problem.
