ive been having trouble with my rear brake and asked about it in another thread, this one is specifically to find out if my master cylinder is working...

    first how would i check?

i would think with the reservoir full and the brake hose off the top of it if you pumped it fluid would come out...

well it does nothing, its acting like the mc is screwed up, im sure i could be wrong as im not sure exactly how it works...

so any suggestions or any \body know a way to check out the master cylinder

Ive also tried holding my finger over the hole where the brake line was attached, it builds no pressure , no fluid moved or anything....

im my other thread someone mentioned this and i just found it

"Edit: Wait, scratch that, by what you've said you ARE getting fluid to the caliper. Maybe check the rear master cylinder for flipped seals as a result of pushing fluid back into it. I've never had it happen to me personally, but I've heared of it happening, for whatever that's worth."

anyone have a diagram of the rear master cylinder so i can take it apart and check

Try pinching the line just enough to close it near to the master and and pump the pedal.. The volume is so small that it tends to just pull the fluid back and forth until the system is filled. It is very common to have problems getting the fuild to flow at first.

Im guessing pushing the fluid backwards pushed some of the "crap" back through there and thats what cause it to stop working... It was like a thick brown sludge in the mc when i took it apart
