    Hi everyone,

I just became an owner of an 85 VF500f Interceptor. The bike doesn't run and has been sitting in the back corner of a garage for about 3 years. I'm looking at getting it running again to use as one of my two daily commuting bikes (I have a 73 Honda CL/CB350 cafe racer conversion). Looking forward to getting getting it running and to getting advice from the knowledgable people on this site.

    Matt

Congrats on your new Miniceptor!! Lots of great folks around here that can help you getting her back to her old glory. How many miles on the new toy? A few pics would be appreciated as many of us love the older Interceptors!

    Regards,
    Rollin

Good news, The bike finally kicked over this morning. Had to run full choke to do it, but eventually I was able to turn the choke off. Can't really rev it with the throttle, other wise it dies. Which is not unexpected. I figure the carbs are gummed up. I had planned to take them out and clean them, so not a big deal. I'm really excited now!

you may be able to let it idle with some carb cleaner in the gas tank if you dont want to take apart the carbs.
