    Hi there folks,
saying a quick hello from sunny Australia. First time posting there and thought I'd share some fun I've been having changing things with my VFR.

If you're interested in modified VFR things then take a peak through my website - | Project VFR

The content is a bit rough, will improve things through time

Lot's more VFR mods to do later on.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

If you have the time maybe try the run from Bairnsdale up over Omeo to Mt Hotham and back down to Bright, can be a good trip. Plenty of good roads from there on back to Melbourne or other places north. Black spur tends to a bit cop prone and isn't very long unfortunately. Can be OK if you head up from the island through Noojee, up to Warburton, then Reefton spur to Marysville and then back to Melb through the Black spur. Watch out for cops and their funky black speed trap tapes back from the 80's.

With the number of speed cameras in this state it should be named National Geographic. Everyone seems to get their photo taken!

Thanks for your positive words on the VFR build, VERY different bike to ride from where it started and lot's more to be done in future.

    Cheers. :)

Not sure of the Baw Baw rd, never been on that one! I thought the road finished at Baw Baw, maybe a dirt road back over to Warburton? The poweltown road is nice as it flows through a valley through the trees but I reckon either way would be good.

Black spur begins where Point F. is on your map and continues through to Healesville. When you get there take a right turn out of town to avoid the eastern Melbourne suburbs/traffic lights and head either west across to Yarra Glen and the christmas hills back into the north eastern side (which gets you closer to the city) or if you're still in the mood head north up through Toolangi and west across to Kinglake. Then head south-west down through St Andrews. I reckon by then you feel like want a beer!

Maybe at the start take a detour to Trafalgar/Moe and up through the Willow grove road, it's worth doing.

There are other places and roads of course that can be added on, like heading out around Jamieson (dirt included) or heading further north.

The high country has some really awesome stuff, did a 1400km ride a few weeks up there across two days, was veeerrrrry veeeeeerrrrrrry nice.

    Cheers :)

Forgot to mention - on your way across from SA maybe head down through Colac -> Forrest -> Apollo bay -> Great Ocean Road. Very scenic, but watch out for Mr Plod :)

Oh and another thing lol - Hoping to be at the supers (pending on $$$), catch ya there!

Will be in the campground with the VFR/CBR, best way to get around the track with beer. Gotta love how things work at that one particular race event only (allowed to ride around slowlyish on grass next to track with beer no helmet not sober all weekend).

Thank you very much for your compliment, I appreciate it greatly.

A LOT of work and thought has already gone into the VFR project and I feel it is truly worthwhile simply from the way the engine delivers its power. That is how it all began. V4 power delivery out of corners is incredibly tractable and predictable, this also from track day rides. Sadly the only racing class currently available for it here is superbike and that would just be silly given the dangerous difference in speed but I have some ideas for approaching other classes here in Victoria.

If this kind of thing interests you then just start by unbolting everything and reinventing it. The weight difference and feel to the bike is completely new. And its not hard to do.

    Cheers. :)

I'm short on time now but I will be producing a new version this year with moto gp replica more in mind rather than CBR copy.

    Hola mi amigo, como estes?

Muchos gracias for your compliments. I too wish Honda had made a more sporting VFR when I first rode one and felt how it delivered power. A great engine and chassis just waiting to be unlocked. Do you have any idea how rigid the VFR frame is compared with modern frames? VFR frame is extruded tube and quite thick walled. Modern sportbikes feature many VERY thin walled castings. I know they are all finely tuned as a chassis that way but with the VFR you are starting with a strong frame.

Maybe I will make an aftermarket kit someday, wouldn't be hard to do.

    Salute mi amigo :)
