Looks to be a H1 motor, Kawasaki 500cc two stroke. Light weight and very fast. But you have to like "ringa ding ding" type noises.

You gave her your best efforts......and she blew up in your face, and you want to put another used engine in place with unknown miles and what, wait for the next blow up ??

I applaud your optimism and determination, but the question is, do you want to ride or wait for parts??

I am not up to bike frames level my self, I do, do car and truck frame repairs and it isnt as easy as some make it out to be.. if you change a brace angle you have to re calc the frame stress and figure out how to get it back to where it was. not a simple thing to do( unless you are an engineering major) your welds have to be 100% and a wire welder (dont even think about stick welding it unless youre a trades welder) in a novices hands wont do it. If your hart is set on modding the frame, do the safe thing and take it to a frame shop or at least get a pressure welder to weld it for you. As for the unknowns: engine life is short on used engines. they have had untold things happen to them and are generaly not much better used than as an anchor. Buy a new engine to work with. I realize cash is tight for the redundant worker but this in the long run will save you the cash you would try to save on a used engine.

The 84 and 85's are kinda 'hand grenades', then again there's a few out there that have hung together pretty well. The 86 engines were updated quite a little though, and far as I know they stick together pretty good.
